{"id":2746,"date":"2010-11-14T12:01:17","date_gmt":"2010-11-14T12:01:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ni0l.com\/?p=2746"},"modified":"2010-11-14T12:01:17","modified_gmt":"2010-11-14T12:01:17","slug":"for-the-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.n0zb.com\/index.php\/2010\/11\/14\/for-the-record\/","title":{"rendered":"For the record&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are details for my Ubuntu hamputer installation:<\/p>\n<p>(1) Install the 32-bit version of Ubuntu <a href=\"http:\/\/releases.ubuntu.com\/lucid\/\">10.04<\/a>&#8230; <b><flash>DO NOT INSTALL THE 64-BIT VERSION!<\/flash><\/b><br \/>\n(2) Run Update Manager and reboot<br \/>\n(3) From the terminal sudo apt-get install: libssl-dev, libhamlib2 and libhsmlin-utild<br \/>\n(4) Download <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cqrlog.com\/?q=node\/4\">CQRLOG<\/a> (my version was cqrlog_0.9.6_install.tar.gz)<br \/>\n(5) Extract file and you get cqrlog_install.sh &#8211; run the script in the terminal<br \/>\n(6) After the install is complete, you should be able to start and run CQRLOG<br \/>\n(7) Now you need Fldigi&#8230; this takes a bit more work to get the latest version<br \/>\n(8) From the Synaptic Package Manager, install: g++, libfltk1.1, and libfltk1.1-dev<br \/>\n(9) Find via Google (or use the supplied links), download, extract, configure, make and install: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mega-nerd.com\/SRC\/download.html\">libsamplerate-0.1.7.tar.gz<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.portaudio.com\/download.html\">pa_snapshot.tgz<\/a> (v19), <a href=\"http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/libpng\/files\/\">libpng-1.2.9beta11<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/hamlib\/files\/\">hamlib-1.2.7<\/a><br \/>\n(10) Then download <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w1hkj.com\/download.html\">fldigi-3.20.29<\/a>, configure, make, and install<br \/>\n(11) That is it &#8211; everything should be good to go.<br \/>\n(12) For bonus points, download and install <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w1hkj.com\/download.html\">Flrig<\/a><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.w1hkj.com\/flrig-help\/images\/IC756PROIII.png\" class=\"aligncenter\" width=\"350\" height=\"347\" \/><br \/>\nFor more on CQRLOG &#8211; listen to <a href=\"http:\/\/lhspodcast.info\/podpress_trac\/web\/1061\/0\/lhs047.mp3\">Episode 47<\/a>: <b>CQRLOG Revisited<\/b> of <a href=\"http:\/\/lhspodcast.info\/\">Linux in the Ham Shack<\/a>&#8230; the best (and only) amateur radio\/linux podcast out there.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/lhspodcast.info\/wp-content\/themes\/mandigo\/images\/headers\/lhs-header-new.jpg\" class=\"aligncenter\" width=\"961\" height=\"226\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are details for my Ubuntu hamputer installation: (1) Install the 32-bit version of Ubuntu 10.04&#8230; DO NOT INSTALL THE 64-BIT VERSION!
