Previously I was using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ni0l.com\/wp-trackback.php?p=1425\">Sony Reader<\/a> and enjoyed using it immensely. The Kindle offers the exact same reading experience but with a larger selection of titles to choose from. Jeff Davis, KE9V of <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.ke9v.net\/\">Signal and Noise<\/a>, has previously mentioned <i>The Radio Boys<\/i> &#8211; the title of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keeline.com\/Chapman\/\">series<\/a> of juvenile fiction books published in the 1920s. Believe it or not, many of their titles are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s\/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-text&#038;field-keywords=radio+boys&#038;x=0&#038;y=0\">available<\/a> for the Kindle. I read one and it was pretty entertaining. Another recent find in the Kindle Store was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Lord-Rings-Trilogy-ebook\/dp\/B0026REBFK\/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&#038;s=digital-text&#038;qid=1254082072&#038;sr=1-2\">Lord of the Rings<\/a> trilogy by Tolkien.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ni0l.com\/pictures\/lotr_kindle.jpg\" class=\"alignright\" width=\"280\" height=\"280\" \/> That&#8217;s pretty amazing as the Tolkien books have long resisted being available in digital format. As I&#8217;ve said above, I enjoy reading books on the Kindle and it is a huge space saver &#8211; but it does not work for me when I am using textbooks. I have found that when I am using a textbook, I need to physically make marks (highlights, underlining, stars, etc.) as well as notes in the margin &#8211; it helps me learn the material. Many of the eReaders allow you to make digital annotations&#8230; but that is not same (at least for me). <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have one of the first edition Kindles that I&#8217;ve had since last year.
