{"id":1113,"date":"2006-01-13T12:48:00","date_gmt":"2006-01-13T12:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ni0l.com\/?p=1113"},"modified":"2006-01-13T12:48:00","modified_gmt":"2006-01-13T12:48:00","slug":"arlhs-lighthouse-spring-lites-qso-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.n0zb.com\/index.php\/2006\/01\/13\/arlhs-lighthouse-spring-lites-qso-party\/","title":{"rendered":"ARLHS LIGHTHOUSE SPRING LITES QSO PARTY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center><\/p>\n<h3> <img src =\"http:\/\/arlhs.com\/img22.gif\">The ARLHS Presents Its Annual <img src =\"http:\/\/arlhs.com\/img22.gif\"> <\/h3>\n<p><font color =\" red\"><\/p>\n<h1>ARLHS LIGHTHOUSE SPRING LITES QSO PARTY<\/h1>\n<p><\/font><\/center><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<li><b><i><font color=#0000ff>Purposes:<\/font><\/i><\/b>\n<li>To promote public awareness of ham radio and lighthouses; to contribute to the recognition that lighthouses, lightships, and their keepers deserve; to foster camaraderie within the ham fraternity; and to provide fellowship amongst the members of the Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society\n<li><b><i><font color=#0000ff>Dates &amp; Times:<\/font><\/i><\/b>\n<li>0001 hrs UTC on April 15, 2006, through 2359 hrs UTC on April 23, 2006.\n<li><b><i><font color=#0000ff>Suggested Modes \/ Calling<br \/>\n      Frequencies:<\/font><\/i> <\/p>\n<li>Any and all modes<\/b> : SSB, CW, RTTY, PSK, FM, SSTV, etc.\n<li><b>Suggested SSB freqs<\/b>: 1950-1990, 3950-3990, 7250-7290,<br \/>\n      14.250-14.290, 21.350-21.390, 28.350-28.390 <br \/>(Calling on the centered<br \/>\n      0.70 kHz on each band \u2014 Example: 14.270.) <\/p>\n<li><b>Suggested CW center freqs<\/b>: 1830, 3530, 7030, 14.030, 21.030,<br \/>\n      28.030 <br \/>Note that these are center calling frequencies. Work 20 kHz<br \/>\n      each side of center. <\/p>\n<li>To alleviate QRM, spread out and work SSB from 50 kHz to 90 kHz and on<br \/>\n      CW work from 10 kHz to 50 kHz (i.e., +\/- 20 kHz of center.) <\/p>\n<li><b><i><font color=#0000ff>Scoring:<\/font><\/i><\/b>\n<li>Each contact (member or nonmember) = 1 pt.\n<li>Add 2 points more if contact is an ARLHS member\n<li>Add 3 points more if contact is at a lighthouse or lightship<u><font \n      color=#0000ff> <\/font><\/u>\n<li><b>BONUS for activating a light:<\/b> As an incentive for participants to activate a light beacon, we are instituting a multiplier. If you activate a lighthouse or lightship under the rules of the ARLHS, you qualify for an additional 2x multiplier of your total score (as determined above). If for example your base score is 600 points and these were all accumulated by your operation at one of the recognized ARLHS lights (see the ARLHS World List), multiply your 600 points x 2 = 1200 points final score.
